The Kingdom of God Is

A true and clear understanding of the scriptures will reveal that God's intent was to establish a kingdom on the earth that mirrored the kingdom of Heaven.  The Bible isn't about the establishment of a religion.  It's about a Divine relationship between heaven and earth.

We have been invited by the King of kings and Lord of lords to participate in a wonderful fellowship of love and co-regency.

Adam and God walking together in the cool of the day is a portrait of what our Heavenly Father had in mind for all of us.

Adam having dominion over all the earth (Genesis 1:26 - 28) and naming all the animals (Genesis 2:20) was a reflection of God's willingness to partner with us in establishing His kingdom on the earth.

The prayer Jesus taught His disciples to pray embodies this idea.  The very first request we are to lay before God is "your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

But what is this kingdom?

Paul gives an answer in Romans 14:17:
"for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."
(Rom 14:17 NKJV)

Over the next few weeks I want to examine the implications of Paul's statement and I hope you will tag along with me.

The King is coming and His followers need to be ready rule and reign with Him.
