Influence

Before Isaiah had gone out of the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: Turn back and tell Hezekiah, the leader of My people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your [forefather]: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

2Ki 20:4-5 AMP

Who says God doesn't change His mind? He obviously did here. Does this threaten His sovereignty or omniscience? Absolutely not. He has given us the opportunity of petition. Why give us that if it has no potential for influence?

We are worth more than most of us realize and God seeks to partner with us or, rather, have us partner with Him in the decision making process. Scary? Most certainly. Exciting? I would certainly hope so. Marvelous? No doubt about it.

Let us make the most of the challenge and seek the face of God so that the things we petition for are most closely aligned with His purposes for then we have the certainty of the things we ask for.
